Final Grade Assesment
This semester is almost coming to an end and I have no regrets of taking this course. This class gives one a good view of what goes behind all the events taking place in the school and around the community. Everything takes a lot of preparation and organization for it to happen and leaders throughout the school are the reason they continue to happen. I remember coming into this class and not knowing many of the people but with all our warm-up games I have gotten to know everyone. Although I don't speak up in front of the whole class, I have gotten out of my comfort zone and can have a conversation with many of them. We have had a few visitors coming in giving some more information about what goes around in the community. I think they were helpful because it gives us more opportunities to get involved. I have gained about 25 volunteer hours along the way of the course. The experiences I take from this class are amazing. The food bank and the Christmas bureau have got to be the most memorable. I was so shocked after leaving the food bank, seeing all these people that dont get the same food as I do on a regular bases was crazy. I noticed that a great amount of the city doesnt live the same life that we take for granted. Having food on our plate for every meal of the day is something we should all be happy about, we even tend to throw away some food when we dont want it. Seeing this huge line of people waiting for there turn to get some food was incredible. They were all so kind and they just wanted as much as they could get. It was hard to say no to them when they asked if they were able to get more but that wouldnt be fair for the rest of them. The Christmas bureau is a great organization. Christmas is one of the happiest times of life everyone. Everybody starts the countdown as soon as December has come. For these families that cant afford to have a Christmas like we do is sad. Children are so happy on Christmas morning when they unwrap all there gifts. Giving back and making someone else's Christmas gave me a great feeling. Knowing that you changed someones day makes not only them but ourselves feel good. When we went to the ladies house she just couldnt stop smiling and the amount of times she thanked us was crazy. The only words she could say was thank you, she was speechless. Throughout the year I have continued to get involved outside of school, with the City Of Surrey and I will continue to do so. Overall this course was a great way to get involved not only around the school but also the community. Since the last term interim i have not changed my habits. I continued to attend class, come with a positive attitude and have followed the "Class Rules." So I think I deserve the same. 94% and a work habits of G. I have learned that everybody is capable of being a leader, but you have to step up and take charge. I doesn't matter if your not the first person but a leader will follow to do good.
